Longtime NBA referee Bill Kennedy is out indefinitely after suffering a hamstring strain during Friday’s game in Orlando, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
Kennedy was injured in the first quarter and left the floor in a wheelchair, an unsettling sight for a league official who has been a constant presence for years.
There is optimism he could return before the regular season ends, but no timetable has been set.
The NBA will adjust, just as it always does. Kennedy will focus on rehab. The games, of course, will go on.
