Report: Warriors not interested in trading for Mavericks’ Anthony Davis

The Warriors have looked at the idea and moved on.

According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, Golden State no longer has interest in trading for Anthony Davis, whose left hand ligament injury is expected to sideline him for at least six weeks after he opted against surgery.

“I sense zero appetite for that right now from the Warriors,” Slater said on ESPN. “Not only trading for a guy, but you would very likely trade Draymond Green in that scenario. Imagine trading Draymond Green for a guy who might be back around playoff time.”

That is a nonstarter in Golden State.

Davis’ situation remains complicated elsewhere. Members of the Mavericks have expressed interest in seeing him alongside Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving, sources told Dallas Hoops Journal. Still, Dallas is sitting 12th in the West and may be better positioned to let losses stack, given that 2026 is the final draft before its first-round pick obligations tighten.

Davis has appeared in just 29 games since arriving in Dallas following the Luka Doncic trade and is earning $54.1 million this season. He is eligible for a massive extension in August. His agent, Rich Paul, would prefer clarity sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Hawks and Raptors remain in touch with Dallas. Golden State, for its part, has shifted its attention toward Michael Porter Jr. of Brooklyn.
