The NBA trade deadline has passed and the Cavaliers landed three new players. But there’s still room for one more move.

Per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cavs intend to sign Nae’Qwan Tomlin to a standard contract, and anyone who follows the team will tell you it’s well-deserved.

Tomlin, 25, has become a regular and often vital part of the regular rotation, offering energy and toughness off the bench.

He’s appeared in 41 games and is averaging 6.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, occasionally defending the opposing team’s best wing along the way.

Two-way players are permitted to appear in 50 NBA games before the must be signed to the standard roster — so Tomlin has about a week or so to go. The Cavs will solve that pickle before that, though.

The Cavs (31-21) have won eight of 10 as they climb back near the top of the Eastern Conference.

They remade the roster by acquiring James Harden, Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis before Thursday’s trade deadline, sending out Darius Garland, De’Andre Hunter and Lonzo Ball in the process.
