The Memphis Grizzlies will remain without Ja Morant for the foreseeable future.

Morant continues to experience discomfort in his left elbow after spraining the ulnar collateral ligament on Jan. 21, the team announced. Follow-up imaging revealed incomplete healing, and Morant will be reevaluated again in two weeks.

The star point guard has appeared in just 20 games this season and has played only three times since the start of the new year.

Memphis sits at 23-38, six games behind the final Western Conference play-in spot.

Morant’s future with the franchise also became a storyline before February’s trade deadline. The 26-year-old was among the bigger names discussed on the market, though a deal never materialized. Limited availability played a role, as Morant has appeared in just 79 games over the past three seasons.

Production has dipped as well. In his 20 games this season, Morant is averaging 19.5 points and 8.1 assists while shooting 41 percent from the field.

League sources indicated the Grizzlies spoke with multiple teams about potential deals prior to the deadline. Memphis is expected to revisit the situation this summer.
