The Spurs keep stacking wins, and the confidence is growing with each one.
San Antonio delivered another statement Sunday, rolling past the Rockets while setting season highs in points (145), assists (38) and three-point shooting (52.5 percent), as detailed by Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.
The hot stretch has players believing something bigger may already be brewing.
“Over the last 15, 20 games we’ve been super comfortable in every single game and given ourselves a chance to win,” Stephon Castle said. “We have nothing but confidence coming into every single game.”
At 47-17 (entering Tuesday), the Spurs own the second-best record in the league and sit No. 2 in the Western Conference with about a month left in the regular season.
Playoff experience remains the biggest question. But center Luke Kornet said the group reminds him of the run his former team, the Celtics, made before becoming champions.
“It’s been a cool thing to be a part of,” Kornet said. “Especially because of how much we are growing and how young we are.”
