Luka Doncic says he has ended his engagement to longtime partner Anamaria Goltes while dealing with an ongoing custody dispute involving their two daughters.

The Lakers star confirmed the situation in a statement to ESPN.

“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible,” Doncic said. “So I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement.

“Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”

According to reports, Goltes recently filed a petition in California seeking child support and attorney fees. Sources told ESPN that Doncic was unaware the filing had been made.

The two have known each other since their youth and began dating in 2016. Doncic proposed in 2023. Their first daughter, Gabriela, was born later that year while Doncic was with the Mavericks. Their second daughter, Olivia, was born in Slovenia in December 2025.

Doncic missed two games earlier this season while traveling to Slovenia for Olivia’s birth.

Doncic, 27, is currently in the first full season of a three-year contract extension with the Lakers and is averaging a league-leading 32.5 points along with 8.4 assists and 7.8 rebounds.
