The future of Giannis Antetokounmpo with the Bucks could again become one of the NBA’s biggest offseason storylines.

Appearing on the Run It Back podcast, teammate Bobby Portis said he believes it is essentially a coin flip whether the Milwaukee star remains with the franchise beyond this season.

“Uh, I’m at a five, bro. I’m right in the middle,” Portis said. “For real, it’s up in the air, man.”

Milwaukee entered the year hoping to remain firmly in the championship picture, but the season has not unfolded that way. The Bucks have struggled to gain traction in the standings, leaving uncertainty about how the roster might look heading into next season.

Portis said the expectations in Milwaukee have always been clear.

“Obviously, just being here, our goal just isn’t to make the play-in,” he said. “The goal isn’t to just make the playoffs. Since I’ve been here, the goal has always been championship.”

Portis added that speculation surrounding Antetokounmpo’s future has become a familiar offseason topic around the league.

According to Portis, the rumors tend to grow louder once the NBA offseason calendar begins to heat up, particularly as teams approach the draft in late June.
