Bucks’ Pete Nance making case to stick as two-way clock ticks

ete Nance made his presence felt Tuesday night.

The Akron native turned in one of his best performances of the season in Milwaukee’s loss to the Cavaliers. Thirteen points. Seven rebounds. Two blocks. Five-of-six shooting. And a plus-seven in 30 minutes.

That’ll play. And it hits a little different given the ties. Brother Larry Nance Jr. is on the Cavs. Father Larry Nance is a franchise legend. So yeah, this one carried some meaning.

Now comes the bigger question. Pete Nance has been active for 47 games, including 29 straight, as relayed by Spotrac’s Keith Smith. The limit on a two-way contract is 50.

Milwaukee has 14 games left. If the Bucks want to keep him active beyond a few more appearances, they’d need to convert him to a standard deal. Problem is, the roster is full.

And with Milwaukee fading from the playoff picture, there’s no urgency to make that move.

Still, Nance is forcing the issue. Energy. Efficiency. Production. Sometimes that’s enough to make a team think twice.
