Cavaliers

Max Strus has been back two games. Kenny Atkinson already trusts him.

That part is clear. Strus closed Tuesday’s win over Milwaukee and figures to stay in a featured role, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com. How that looks, exactly, is still evolving.

“I have such a comfort level with him,” Atkinson said. “Maybe starting lineup. Maybe sixth man. We will see.”

What seems certain is this. He’s going to be out there late.

Strus hit a big three, finished with six points, six rebounds and four assists, and continues to check all the boxes. His minutes are expected to climb into the high 20s by the playoffs.

Now comes the squeeze. Cleveland has options on the wing. Keon Ellis. Dennis Schroder. Sam Merrill. Even Jaylon Tyson. Not everyone is playing in a nine-man rotation.

“We haven’t made a clear decision,” Atkinson said. “Still think we have to evaluate.”

Good problem. Still a problem.

Pacers

Pascal Siakam is getting closer, but not quite there.

He’s missed six straight games with a knee sprain, but coach Rick Carlisle expects him back before the season ends, per Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star.

Indiana needs him. The Pacers’ losing streak hit 15, the longest in franchise history, as noted by Tony East of Circle City Spin. It’s been that kind of season for the reigning East champs.

Bulls

Jaden Ivey may be nearing a return. Coach Billy Donovan said Ivey will travel with the team, with hopes of getting him back soon, per Will Gottlieb of CHGO Bulls.

He hasn’t played since February 11, but the knee is improving. That’s a start.
