The Hawks have signed shooting guard Malik Ellison, the team announced in a press release. Ellison is receiving an Exhibit 10 training camp contract, agent Jerry Dianis tod Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Ellison, 26, is 6-foot-6 and the son of former No. 1 overall pick Pervis Ellison. Malik Ellison signed a 10-day contract with the Hawks last season, though he did not log any minutes.
Instead, he spent the majority of his time with the College Park SkyHawks, Atlanta’s affiliate in the G League. With the SkyHawks, he appeared in 26 games and averaged 6.8 points and 4.7 rebounds.
After the season, he played for the 76ers’ summer league squad, averaging 7.0 points and 3.8 boards in four appearances.
Exhibit 10 contracts count toward a team’s offseason roster limit of 20, but not toward the regular roster unless the player receives a standard deal.
