The Hawks have signed guard Armoni Brooks, the team announced in a press release. While details weren’t revealed, the deal is an Exhibit 10 training camp contract, per Lauren L. Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Brooks, 24, was waived by the Raptors in late July. He signed a pair of 10-day deals with the Raptors after the February trade deadline, then eventually landed a two-year deal. He played fairly well with the Rockets for 41 games before that, averaging 6.2 points.
As relayed by JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors, Brooks would’ve be guaranteed $250,000 if the Raptors kept him past Aug. 1. He was among a group that took part in a workout for the Cavaliers earlier this month.
The Hawks’ roster now stands at 20, the maximum allowed entering camp.
Exhibit 10 contracts count toward a team’s offseason roster limit of 20, but not toward the regular roster unless the player receives a standard deal.
