The Timberwolves would like to keep Tim Connelly around for the long haul.
Minnesota has interest in signing its president of basketball operations to a contract extension, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Connelly is currently under contract through 2027.

He has helped guide a sustained run of success since arriving in 2022. The Timberwolves have reached the Western Conference finals in each of the past two seasons and advanced to the second round again this year after eliminating the Nuggets for the second time in three seasons.
Game 1 of their second-round series against the Spurs was underway Monday night.
Elsewhere, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch reacted to the Bulls hiring Bryson Graham as their top basketball executive. Finch previously worked with Graham in New Orleans and praised the move, while also voicing support for Minnesota general manager Matt Lloyd, who was a finalist for the job.
“Congrats to Bryson Graham,” Finch said, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic. “He’s a class act and outstanding talent evaluator.”
Finch added that Lloyd “is one of the best executives I’ve ever worked with” and said it’s only a matter of time before he lands a top job.
