Bulls guard Josh Giddey took care of something that’s been lingering.
Namely, Giddey underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his right ankle, the team announced. The timeline is straightforward. About three months. That puts him back on the court around mid-August and on track for training camp.

This didn’t come out of nowhere. Giddey has been dealing with ankle issues for a while now, dating back to the 2024 Olympics with Australia. There have been multiple sprains since, all tied to that same right ankle.
He still managed to produce.
Giddey averaged career highs across the board this season. Seventeen points. Just over nine assists. More than eight rebounds. He did it in 54 games, with most of his missed time tied to hamstring trouble.
Chicago has decisions to make this offseason under new leadership. Giddey doesn’t feel like one of them.
He’s 23, locked into a long-term deal and coming off his best year. The Bulls believe in him. This procedure is about making sure he’s ready to keep building on it.
