The ideas are starting to fly again around LeBron James.
Following another playoff exit, ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins floated a scenario that would send the Lakers’ LeBron James out of Los Angeles in a sign-and-trade for Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen.

“I guarantee you, he will take Jarrett Allen’s money,” Perkins said on Get Up. “If you can sign-and-trade and do LeBron for Jarrett Allen, Cleveland is doing it, and the Lakers are doing it.”
It is a bold idea. It also speaks to what the Lakers are believed to be seeking.
As previously reported, Los Angeles is looking to upgrade at center and find a true lob threat to pair with Luka Doncic. Allen checks those boxes as a rim-runner and interior presence.
From a basketball standpoint, the fit is easy to picture.
From a reality standpoint, this is where things get complicated.
James remains the face of the Lakers and continues to produce at a high level. Any move involving him would require buy-in from all sides, including a willingness to leave Los Angeles.
Still, the connection to Cleveland adds intrigue. It is where James’ career began and where he delivered a championship.
But at this point, it’s another offseason idea making the rounds.
The type that gets people talking.
