The Thunder and Spurs are set. Now it’s just a matter of when.
Oklahoma City and San Antonio will open the Western Conference finals on Monday night, with Game 1 scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET in OKC. The series will be broadcast on NBC and streamed via Peacock and DIRECTV.
The Thunder have rolled through the playoffs so far, entering the series unbeaten and now getting a boost with the expected return of Jalen Williams, who missed time with a hamstring strain.
San Antonio, meanwhile, has looked every bit like a rising contender.
Led by Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs have leaned on defense and length. Wembanyama is averaging 4.1 blocks per game this postseason, by far the most in the field, and continues to anchor everything they do.
And here’s where it gets interesting.
The Spurs actually had Oklahoma City’s number during the regular season, winning four of five meetings by an average margin of nearly 12 points. So while the Thunder may be the favorites, this is far from a walkover.
