Channing Frye wants LeBron James to return to Cavs

Channing Frye knows exactly what he wants to see happen this offseason. He wants LeBron James back with the Cavaliers.

During a recent episode of the Road Trippin’ podcast with former Cavs teammate Richard Jefferson, Frye said he’d love to see James return to Cleveland one more time.

“Go back to Cleveland,” Frye said. “That’s what I wanna see. Go back home, last year, let’s get it done.”

Frye also suggested the Cavs could move forward without James Harden, who is expected to decline his player option and enter free agency this summer.

According to Frye, adding LeBron would immediately give the Cavs another ball-handler, more toughness and added leadership around a core already featuring Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen.

Whether any of it is actually realistic remains unclear. But the speculation surrounding James and Cleveland continues growing.

James, 41, becomes a free agent for the first time since 2018 if he chooses not to retire. Multiple reports have suggested the Cavaliers and Lakers are viewed as the two most likely destinations should he continue playing next season.

And James himself recently fueled more discussion by liking a social media post encouraging him to “come home” to Cleveland again.

Of course, LeBron’s history with the Cavs is already secure regardless of what happens next.

Across two separate stints with his hometown franchise, James won two MVP awards, captured the 2016 NBA championship and delivered Cleveland its first major sports title in more than 50 years.

That title remains especially meaningful to him.

“Winning in Cleveland was probably the most special one,” James said recently while appearing on Bob Does Sports. “My main mission was, I want to win one for this city.”

If James decides to play a 24th NBA season, the basketball world will spend the next several weeks wondering whether one final chapter in Cleveland could actually happen.

  1. Cash grab for Cavs and Klutch.

And it will only cost the Cavs fans one to four more seasons of being lied to by media, passive aggressive projection, excuse making, and scapegoating everybody not named LeBron when the hope promised falls short of people’s expectations.

Might want to do some background research on the guy.

Except that’s not in the plans when it’s a cash grab.

At we won’t have to pay for Cavs games on TV til March, the time in the season when LeBron starts to take the game seriously, and comes back from his trip to Miami.

Can’t wait for the gaslighting especially. The built in excuses. And as he just did with the Lakers, calling his team not talented enough when they lose. What a guy!
