The idea of pairing Giannis Antetokounmpo with Donovan Mitchell and James Harden may sound appealing on paper.
According to a recent report, though, not everyone within the Cavaliers organization is on board with the cost.
Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported that multiple members of Cleveland’s “brain trust” would be strongly opposed to a trade that sends Evan Mobley to the Bucks in exchange for Antetokounmpo.

“The Cavs love Mobley, they believe in him and there are multiple members of the Cleveland brain trust that would be vehemently against a Giannis-Mobley swap,” Fedor wrote.
Mobley is coming off another strong season and remains one of the league’s premier younger two-way players. According to Fedor, some within the organization also see Mobley as a long-term safety net should the Cavs eventually need to transition into a new era.
That doesn’t mean they have zero interest in Antetokounmpo.
The two-time MVP has frequently been mentioned as a potential trade target if Milwaukee decides to explore major changes this offseason. Naturally, the Cavaliers have surfaced as one of several teams connected to speculation involving the Bucks superstar.
The challenge is obvious.
Any realistic trade package would likely require Cleveland to part with Mobley, a player the organization has spent years developing and views as a central piece of the future.
So moving him, obviously, is risky.
But if Giannis speculation continues to grow this summer, Mobley’s value inside the organization could become one of the biggest factors shaping the Cavs’ approach.
