NBA Rumors: Jazz, Walker Kessler, Pistons, Malik Beasley, Nuggets

Jazz

Walker Kessler wants everyone to know one thing — he isn’t looking for a way out of Utah.

Amid reports suggesting he’s frustrated with contract negotiations and unhappy with the way talks have unfolded, Kessler took to social media to push back on the notion that he wants to leave the Jazz.

“I’ve seen what’s being said, and I want it to be clear that I have always wanted to be here,” Kessler wrote on Instagram. “I love this city, these fans, my teammates, my coaches — that’s real to me. You don’t grow roots where you don’t want to be.”

The comments come after reports indicated Kessler and the Jazz remain apart on a new contract despite Utah reportedly offering a deal worth more than $140 million.

So, yes, the negotiations continue. But Kessler made it clear where he stands.

Pistons

The future of Malik Beasley remains uncertain.

Speaking during his pre-draft media session, Pistons president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon said he has not spoken with Beasley or anyone representing him regarding a possible return to Detroit.

Of course, there may be a reason for that. As Langdon noted, Beasley currently does not have an agent.

Beasley appeared headed toward a new deal with the Pistons before federal investigators and the NBA began examining possible ties to illegal betting activity. The veteran guard has not yet been cleared.

Until that situation is resolved, Detroit’s options may remain limited.

Nuggets

Could a familiar face be headed to Denver?

According to reports relayed by Eurohoops, the Nuggets are expected to have interest in veteran guard Bogdan Bogdanovic if he becomes available.

Bogdanovic remains under contract with the Clippers, though Los Angeles holds a team option for next season that many around the league expect it to decline.

If that happens, the Serbian veteran would hit free agency.

A move to Denver would make plenty of sense. Bogdanovic and Nikola Jokic have spent years playing together for Serbia’s national team, and the Nuggets could use additional scoring and play-making off the bench.

After an injury-plagued season, Bogdanovic may be looking for the right opportunity to revive his value. Denver could provide exactly that.
