Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley is making the trip to Orlando and expected to play in the preseason finale vs. the Magic on Friday.
Mobley, of course, has missed the first three preseason games with a bum ankle, suffered early in training camp when his foot was stepped on.
While Mobley is ready to roll, the Cavs standout backcourt of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell will not make the trip. Center Jarrett Allen also stayed back in Cleveland, and all three are sitting out solely for the purpose of rest.
Meanwhile, guard/forward Caris LeVert will return after sitting out the last season game, a win over the Hawks. So at least Mobley will have one starter (or potential starter) with him against the Magic.
Everyone else on both sides is likely to be a game-time decision.
Mobley averaged 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 69 games last season, as the Cavs surprised the league on the way to a 44-38 finish. Mobley, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 draft, was a big reason why.
The Cavs open the regular season Wednesday at Toronto. You can check out the latest Dribbles right here or our Cavs page right here.
