Sixers
The Sixers may have competition if they hope to keep Kelly Oubre Jr.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Iko, Oubre is expected to meet with the Pacers, Lakers, Trail Blazers, Sixers and others as he weighs his next contract.
Oubre is coming off a productive season in Philadelphia, averaging 14.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 50 games. He also shot a career-best 36.0 percent on 3-pointers.
The Pacers are said to be especially intrigued. Grant Afseth of Dallas Hoops Journal reported Indiana views Oubre as a fit because of his athleticism, transition ability and defensive versatility.
A deal in the range of two years and $16.5 million has been rumored, per Afseth, though that could push the Pacers into the luxury tax.
The Lakers have also been linked to Oubre, though Los Angeles is believed to be prioritizing Quentin Grimes among its wing targets.
Pistons
The Pistons do not appear interested in losing Jalen Duren.
According to Marc J. Spears of ESPN and Andscape, Detroit plans to match any offer sheet Duren receives in restricted free agency and is not interested in sign-and-trade scenarios.
Spears also reported the Pistons believe they have made the most lucrative offer possible to the 22-year-old center.
Duren is coming off a strong regular season in which he averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 65 percent from the field. He also earned his first All-Star selection and third-team All-NBA honors.
There have been questions about his playoff production, however, as his numbers dipped and Detroit occasionally turned to Paul Reed in key moments.
Still, the Pistons appear determined to keep Duren after previous reports linked him to potential meetings with the Kings and Lakers.
Bulls
The Bulls are keeping forward Leonard Miller in the fold.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Chicago has fully guaranteed Miller’s $2.41 million salary for next season.
Miller averaged 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds in 27 games after arriving from Minnesota in last season’s Ayo Dosunmu trade.
The Bulls also announced they have waived guard Kam Jones, who came to Chicago in a draft-night deal with the Pacers.
Chicago is expected to have roughly $31 million in cap space, along with the room exception, as it continues filling out the roster.
