NBA Free Agency: Suns, Luke Kennard, Pistons, Tobias Harris, Bulls

Suns

The Suns have added one of the NBA’s top outside shooters.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Phoenix has agreed to a two-year, $13 million contract with veteran guard Luke Kennard. The deal reportedly includes a player option for the second season.

Kennard split last season between the Hawks and Lakers, averaging 8.4 points while shooting a career-best 47.8 percent from three-point range.

For his career, Kennard has connected on 44.2 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc, trailing only Steve Kerr among players with at least 250 made 3-pointers.

Phoenix had been searching for additional perimeter shooting after moving Grayson Allen in the Miles Bridges trade, making Kennard a logical fit.

Pistons

The Pistons still hope to bring back veteran forward Tobias Harris, but they’ll have competition.

According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, Harris is meeting with five teams after the two sides were unable to reach an agreement during Detroit’s exclusive negotiating window.

Marc Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line have previously identified the Spurs as one potential suitor.

Harris averaged 13.3 points and 5.1 rebounds last season while serving as one of Detroit’s veteran leaders during the franchise’s return to playoff contention.

The Pistons still hold Harris’ Early Bird rights, giving them added flexibility if they choose to match or exceed outside offers.

Bulls

The Bulls are bringing back Zach Collins.

According to ESPN, Collins has agreed to a two-year, $17 million contract to remain in Chicago.

The veteran big man was limited to just 10 games last season because of a fractured wrist and a sprained toe.

When healthy, Collins averaged 9.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists while providing frontcourt depth for the Bulls.
