NBA Free Agency: Celtics, Mike Conley, Nets, Nikola Vucevic, Kings

Celtics

The Celtics are adding a respected veteran to their backcourt.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Boston has agreed to a one-year contract with free-agent point guard Mike Conley.

The 38-year-old spent the past several seasons with the Timberwolves and is expected to provide depth behind Derrick White and Payton Pritchard.

While Conley’s production has naturally declined late in his career, he’s long been regarded as one of the league’s most respected veterans and locker-room leaders.

By returning for another season, Conley is set to join an exclusive group of players who have reached the 20-year mark in the NBA.

Nets

The Nets continue adding veteran depth.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Brooklyn has agreed to a two-year, $19 million contract with center Moritz Wagner.

The deal reportedly includes a mutual option for the second season.

Wagner spent the past five-plus seasons with the Magic before becoming a free agent this summer. He averaged 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 36 games last season after returning from a torn ACL.

Brooklyn’s frontcourt remains in transition following Nic Claxton‘s departure, giving Wagner an opportunity to compete for significant minutes.

Kings

The Kings have added a young forward on a two-way contract.

According to Scotto, Sacramento has reached an agreement with former Raptors forward Jonathan Mogbo.

The 24-year-old appeared in 103 games over two seasons with Toronto after being selected with the 31st overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Known primarily for his defensive versatility and athleticism, Mogbo will look to earn a larger opportunity with the Kings after falling out of Toronto’s regular rotation last season.
