While John Wall is expected to be a major part of the rotation, Clippers coach Tyronn Lue is sticking with a familiar face as the starting point guard.
That would be none other than Reggie Jackson, who started last season, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Wall was picked up in free agency after sitting out all of last season with the Rockets. Per Haynes, he likely won’t play in back-to-back games, at least not at first.
Jackson, 32, is 6-foot-3 and appeared in 75 games last season, averaging 16.8 points and 4.8 assists in one of his better all-around seasons.
Wall, 32, is also 6-3 and last appeared in at least 40 games in 2020-21, his first season with the Rockets, averaging 20.6 points and 6.9 assists. Along the way, he proved to be a leader and a true professional in a losing situation.
He did not play the year before that after suffering a left heel/Achilles infection. In all, he has played just 72 games over the previous five seasons. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, Wall spent the first nine years of his career in Washington.
