The Nuggets continue to feel good about their chances of keeping restricted free agent Peyton Watson.
According to Tony Jones of The Athletic, Denver still believes it’s in a strong position to re-sign the 23-year-old forward despite reported interest from the Bucks, Clippers and Hawks.

Those teams would almost certainly need to work out a sign-and-trade with Denver to acquire Watson, since all three are operating above the salary cap.
Jones added that the Nuggets value Watson “significantly” and are comfortable allowing the restricted free agency process to play out.
That process has moved slowly around the league in recent years, with several prominent restricted free agents waiting until late in the offseason to finalize new contracts.
Watson has steadily developed into one of Denver’s top young rotation players, providing length, athleticism and defensive versatility off the bench.
Roddy future less certain
Meanwhile, David Roddy‘s future with the Nuggets is less clear.
According to Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports, Denver likes Roddy “a lot,” but bringing him back could prove difficult.
Roddy is no longer eligible for a two-way contract after completing his fourth NBA season, and the Nuggets already have a crowded frontcourt. If Denver adds another player before training camp, Wind believes the club is more likely to target backcourt depth than another forward.
