Source: LeBron, James Harden share ‘mutual respect,’ no issues teaming with Cavs

For all the talk that LeBron James and James Harden might not fit together, those close to the situation apparently see it much differently.

According to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of ScoopB.com, sources familiar with the situation insist Harden would welcome the chance to play alongside James if the four-time MVP decides to return to Cleveland.

“James respects LeBron’s game,” one source told Robinson. “There’s a mutual respect that they both have as competitors and they both want to see each other do well.”

The source added that the public perception of the relationship simply doesn’t match reality.

“The way that their relationship is framed by media and social media is not indicative of how they feel about each other in actuality,” the source said.

That echoes comments Robinson recently received from James’ agent, Rich Paul, who said he has no personal issue with Harden despite previously acknowledging he wasn’t a fan of the Cavaliers’ trade that sent Darius Garland to the Clippers.

“I like James Harden,” Paul told Robinson. “He’s actually my friend.”

Paul later added that while he disagreed with the deal, Cleveland had every right to make it.

“I never cared for the trade, but that’s their prerogative,” Paul said.

League sources continue to tell Hoops Wire that many around the NBA view the Cavaliers as the team to beat in the James sweepstakes, with the Heat and 76ers also receiving significant support.

If James ultimately chooses Cleveland, Robinson’s reporting suggests there won’t be any concerns from Harden’s side.

In fact, one source told ScoopB.com that Harden would “love to be his teammate,” while adding that he isn’t the type to launch an aggressive recruiting campaign.
