Patrick Beverley isn’t done yet.
The former NBA guard has signed with Boulazac Basket Dordogne of France’s top professional league, the team announced Friday.
Beverley, 38, last played in the NBA with the Bucks during the 2023-24 season. He spent 12 years in the league, appearing in 666 regular-season games with the Rockets, Clippers, Timberwolves, Lakers, Bulls, 76ers and Bucks.
He averaged 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists for his NBA career, though the numbers never really explained Beverley. Defense, toughness, energy and getting under somebody’s skin were generally more his thing.
His NBA tenure ended on an unfortunate note. Beverley received a four-game suspension after repeatedly throwing a basketball toward fans following Milwaukee’s playoff elimination at Indiana in 2024, including one that struck a woman in the head.
He has remained overseas since, spending 2024-25 with Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel and last season with PAOK in Greece.
International basketball isn’t exactly foreign territory for Beverley, either. Before reaching the NBA in 2012, he played professionally in Ukraine, Greece and Russia.
Now comes France. Boulazac finished 12-18 last season and competes in LNB Élite, though not in the EuroLeague or EuroCup.
So Beverley’s NBA days may be behind him. His basketball days clearly aren’t.
