Teams Calling For No. 3 Pick; Cavs Look To Land Another In Top 10

There is no shortage of suitors for the Cavaliers’ No. 3 overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft.

Per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Raptors, Thunder, Warriors and Knicks have all reached out to the Cavs to discuss offers and move up.

So far, sources told Hoops Wire, nothing has enticed the Cavs to move out of the spot, as they presumably continue to set their sights on whoever is left between G League shooting guard Jalen Green and USC center Evan Mobley.

For instance, while the Thunder are making shooting guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander available, he was not part of their offer to the Cavs, Scotto relayed.

Still, Scotto added, the Cavs are very open to landing another top-10 pick — and the Raptors (No. 4 overall), Thunder (No. 6) and Warriors (No. 7) are each armed with one apiece. The Thunder also owns the the Nos. 16 and 18 picks, and the Warriors also own No. 14.

Along with all that, Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman also reportedly has been making leading scorer Collin Sexton available in trade packages, as well as trying to move up to No. 1. 

The Cavs are also said to be in on the trade talks for 76ers guard/forward Ben Simmons, adding another possibility to what is already an intriguing offseason.

The former seems much more doable than the latter — though if Sexton is to be traded, it’s likely to happen after free agency in August, sources said.
