The Warriors have waived guard/forward Dalen Terry, along with training camp invitees Tyler Burton and Alex Toohey, the team announced Saturday.
The moves come as Golden State trims its roster ahead of the regular season, with Terry perhaps the most notable departure.
As Rory Maher of Hoops Rumors noted, Terry had been playing on a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 contract after joining the Warriors in August.
The 24-year-old appeared in five preseason games, averaging 6.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 14 minutes per appearance.
Golden State reportedly likes Terry, and Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints indicated he could begin the season with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G League.
Terry was selected by the Bulls with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. He later spent time with the Pelicans and 76ers, who waived him this offseason to create room under their hard cap for LeBron James.
The decision to release Terry also appears to improve Brandon Williams’ chances of making Golden State’s regular-season roster.
Williams’ contract remains non-guaranteed until January, giving the Warriors some flexibility as they finalize their roster.
