Cavaliers forward Dean Wade is out for about the next 3-to-4 weeks with a shoulder injury suffered in Friday’s win over the Magic, the team announced in a press release.
AN MRI revealed an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder.
Wade, 26, is 6-foot-9 and has been a solid contributor, either as a starter or reserve, when healthy this season. In 17 games, he is averaging 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds, shooting 45 percent from the field and 41 percent on 3-pointers.
He has spent each of his three-plus NBA seasons in Cleveland after going undrafted out of Kansas State in 2019.
The Cavs will now have to rely more heavily on the likes of Cedi Osman, Lamar Stevens and veteran Kevin Love to help fill Wade’s minutes.
