Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson buried six 3-pointers for a new career-high in Friday’s road win over the Bulls.
Fittingly, Brunson spent a large part of his childhood in Chicago, given that father Rick Brunson played there.
“I like playing here a lot,” Brunson said, via Zach Braziller of the New York Post. “Brings back memories.”
Brunson actually entered the game as questionable with a bruised foot.
At any rate, coach Tom Thibodeau said he is pleased with the guard play, as the Knicks have won six straight (through Friday).
“That backcourt, I love the way our perimeter is playing right now,” Thibodeau said, via Braziller.
- Guard Derrick Rose checked in for the first time in six games and immediately hit a three, much to the delight of Bulls fans. It resulted in some “M-V-P” chants for the ex-Chicago star, who won NBA MVP honors in 2011. “To come here and to see all the love and receive all the love that we got, it was unreal,” Rose told reporters.
- Former Knicks shooting guard Louis Orr passed away Friday at the age of 64, as relayed by Braziller. Orr had been battling pancreatic cancer. He also spent some time as a college coach at Seton Hall.
