Lakers star forward LeBron James will miss Monday’s road game against the West-leading Nuggets with left ankle soreness, the team announced.
This seems to be a lingering issue for James, who seemingly has battled a minor — but certainly painful — ankle injury all season.
James, 38, was named Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday, as the Lakers have won five straight. James missed one of those games, but it was because of illness and not the ankle.
In the four games he did play, he averaged an eye-popping 35.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 7.7 assists. Those are great numbers for anyone, but especially for someone who is bearing down on 40.
