The Hawks have discussed a trade that would send forward John Collins to the Jazz in exchange for guard Malik Beasley and power forward Jarred Vanderbilt, per Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
Along with Collins, the Jazz asked for a first-round pick, Fischer added.
Collins has been linked to the Jazz since early November, as the Hawks clearly are at least exploring the market and aiming to move him for the right return. There has also been talk of a Collins swap for Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma.
The Nets and Mavericks have also reportedly expressed interest in a Collins trade.
Collins, 25, is 6-foot-9, averaging 13.3 points and 8.1 rebounds, and shooting 50 percent from the field in 33 games. He is in the second season of a five-year, $125 million contract.
The Hawks haven’t seen much improvement from last season after acquiring guard Dejounte Murray in an offseason trade, and are looking for another piece.
Beasley, 26, is 6-4 and averaging 14.0 points on 41 percent shooting, including 36 percent on 3-pointers, in 44 games.
Vanderbilt, 23, is 6-9 and has compiled a career-high 8.5 points to go with 8.1 rebounds in 42 games. He is shooting about 57 percent from the field.
Beasley and Vanderbilt were acquired from the Timberwolves in the trade involving center Rudy Gobert. Both have also spent time with the Nuggets.
