The Celtics have been on the lookout for depth in the frontcourt and it appears they have found their man. Or at least one of them.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Celtics are acquiring power forward Mike Muscala from the Thunder in exchange for small forward Justin Jackson and two second-round picks.
Muscala, 31, has spent the past four seasons with the Thunder. This year, he has appeared in 43 games and is averaging 6.3 points and 4.1 rebounds, shooting nearly 40 percent on 3-pointers. So he is a big man who can stretch the floor and should help the defending Eastern Conference champs immediately.
Along with the Thunder, he has also played for the Hawks, 76ers and Lakers.
Jackson, 27, has barely been a part of the Celtics’ rotation, so it’s hard to tell if he will stick in what will be his second stint with the Thunder. He has also spent time with the Kings, Mavericks and Bucks.
