The Thunder are signing two-way shooting guard Lindy Waters III to a standard, two-year contract worth $3.8 million, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Waters, 25, is 6-foot-6 and has appeared in 25 games this season, matching his total last year as a rookie. He is averaging 4.4 points on 40 percent shooting, including 37 percent on 3-pointers.
He first signed the two-way deal with the Thunder in February 2022, spending plenty of time with the G League’s OKC Blue.
Waters went undrafted out of Oklahoma State in 2020, then signed on with the Enid Outlaws of The Basketball League. He then signed with the Blue after a successful tryout, averaging 8.3 points.
He scored 12 points in 17 minutes against the Kings on Sunday, just hours after he played in a G League game, as relayed by Joe Mussatto of the Oklahoman.
The second season of Waters’ deal consists of a team option, Charania noted.
