All five Cavaliers starters and sixth man Caris LeVert are listed as out for Thursday’s road game vs the Magic.
So that means no Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Isaac Okoro, or LeVert.
Okoro (knee) is the only one with a legitimate injury in that group. His status for the start of the playoffs is up in the air, though a source told Hoops Wire the Cavs suspect Okoro will be ready by either Game 1 or 2.
Willingly sitting out the rest of the entire core makes sense, given that the Cavs are locked into the No. 4 playoff seed. They will have nearly a week with no games before Game 1 of their first-round series against the fifth-seeded Knicks.
Since none of the aforementioned are expected to play in Sunday’s regular-season finale against the visiting Hornets, some of the Cavs; main will actually get more than a week off.
The NBA playoffs start Saturday, April 15. Some series will top off on April 16. The schedule for the Cavs-Knicks series has yet to be announced. Each of the first two games will be in Cleveland.
Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert and Isaac Okoro are all out for Cavs vs Magic. Okoro, of course, is only one with legit injury (knee).
