The Pelicans are signing free agent center Cody Zeller to a one-year, $3.1 million contract, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Zeller, 30, just finished a run to the Finals as a reserve on the Heat, averaging just more than eight minutes a game in 21 playoff games. He appeared in 15 regular-season games before that, averaging 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds.
He’s expected to help fill the void left by departed reserve big men Jaxson Hayes (Lakers) and Willy Hernangomez (free agent).
Along with the Heat, Zeller served a quick stint with the Trail Blazers after spending the first eight years of his career with the Hornets. He attended training camp with the Jazz, was waived, then signed with Miami in February.
