The Nets are signing guard Lonnie Walker IV to a one-year contract, agents Rich Paul and agent Lucas Newton told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Walker, 24, appeared in 56 games with the Lakers last season, averaging 11.7 points and 1.9 rebounds, shooting 45 percent from the field and 37 percent on 3-pointers.
The Lakers reportedly had an interest in Walker returning, though given all their free-agent signings, playing time may have been scarce. Meanwhile, the Nets traded guard Patty Mills (to the Thunder) and lost guard Seth Curry in free agency (to the Mavericks), and may have plenty of minutes for Walker.
Prior to joining the Lakers, Walker spent four seasons with the Spurs.
Walker emerged a significant contributor to the Lakers late in his only season there.
