The Timberwolves intend to sign guard/forward Vit Krejci to a training camp contract, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
Krejci, 23, is 6-foot-8 and appeared in 29 games with the Hawks last season, playing limited minutes. He appeared in 30 games with the Thunder the year before that as a rookie, averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds, shooting 41 percent from the field.
He originally was selected with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, but missed his entire first season with a torn ACL.
Krejci is likely receiving an Exhibit 10 contract from the Timberwolves — meaning he would count toward the preseason roster of 21, but not the standard roster unless he makes the team. So he very well could be in line for a spot on the Iowa Wolves, Minnesota’s affiliate in the G League.
As of now, the Timberwolves have 14 players on guaranteed contracts. Krejci will bring their camp roster to 17.
