Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has made it very clear — he wants a trade to the Heat. But apparently, the Bulls don’t necessarily care.
Per Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports, the Bulls are attempting to get involved in a trade for Lillard. While it’s not exactly clear what the Blazers may want in return, it doesn’t seem to be any players from Chicago.
So the Bulls are looking at multiteam possibilities, floating the name of guard Zach LaVine, Neubeck indicated on a podcast, via HoopsRumors. The 76ers may be one team that the Bulls have contacted, sources told Hoops Wire.
As an aside, Philadelphia guard James Harden has also requested a trade, but it doesn’t seem as if his name has come up in any talks involving Lillard.
Interestingly, Lillard is expected to stand firm on his trade request to the Heat should anyone else acquire him, as we relayed here.
But no matter how you spin it or which teams are actually involved, the Blazers seem to be as active as ever in seeking a way to move Lillard ahead of training camp, which is less than three weeks away.
That said, they haven’t spoken to Miami since July, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. That may be opening the door for others to believe they stand a chance.
