The Clippers have reached agreement on a two-year contract extension with guard/forward Terance Mann, according to Marc Spears of ESPN and The Undefeated.
The extension is worth $22 million, Spears added.
Mann, 24, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in 67 games last season, his second in the NBA. He compiled averages 7.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists primarily in a reserve role. But he also became a key player following the injury to star forward Kawhi Leonard and is expected to do the same this season.
“It is with tremendous honor and pride that I sign this extension with the Clippers,” Mann told ESPN/The Undefeated in a statement. “The faith and commitment in my development and contribution thus far will provide me the motivation I need as I continue to be a pivotal part of our championship run.
“I want to thank the front office for this opportunity to remain a part of the Clipper Nation. I would also like to thank my coaches and teammates for believing me and allowing me to grow both on and off the court.”
Mann has two years left on his current deal, which will pay him about $3.7 million total.
The Clippers open the season Oct. 21 at Golden State.
