Pistons, Kevin Knox Agree to One-Year Contract

The Pistons are bringing back forward Kevin Knox on a one-year contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Knox, 24, is 6-fgoot-7 and appeared in 42 games with the Pistons last season, before a February trade sent him to the Trail Blazers. The Blazers waived him in late October.

In 63 total games last season (including 42 with Detroit), Knox averaged 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds, shooting 46 percent from the field and 35 percent on 3-pointers.

Selected by the Knicks with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Knox averaged 12.8 points as a rookie with New York. But he has failed to be a consistent scorer since.

Knox reported to the Rip City Remix of the G League last week, but will now fill the 15th roster spot for the Pistons. He is likely receiving a non-guaranteed, one-year deal, though that’s not been confirmed.

The Pistons are currently without the injured Bojan Bogdanovic (calf), Alec Burks (forearm), Joe Harris (shoulder), Jaden Ivey (illness), Monte Morris (quad) and Isaiah Livers (ankle). So they could use the depth.

Knox is represented by agent Aaron Turner, who hails from Orange, Ohio.
