Guards Terrence Ross and R.J. Hampton, and center Moritz Wagner have entered health and safety protocols, as relayed by Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel.
Those three joined forward Ignas Brazdeikis, who entered protocols Thursday night. All four players will need to miss 10 days or return two negative tests in a 24-hour span.
“Since vaccinated players haven’t been required to undergo daily testing for COVID-19 this season, those players have only been tested when they show symptoms of the virus or when they’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors. “If Brazdeikis tested positive on Thursday, it likely prompted a round of testing for the entire roster.”
The NBA reportedly has a vaccination rate of 97 percent, but like the NFL and NHL, is experiencing a major outbreak of positive tests and players entering protocol. The Associated Press reported Thursday evening that about 8 percent of NBA players were in protocol.
