However, Lowry is expected to re-sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Clippers are also interested in reuniting with Chris Paul if the veteran hits the open market.

“I’ve been hearing for weeks now that the Clippers — even though Russell Westbrook possesses a $4 million player option for next season — have interest in both Paul and Kyle Lowry to supply backcourt depth,” Stein wrote. “Lowry, though, is a Philadelphia native who is widely expected to re-sign with the 76ers.”

Lowry played for the Miami Heat and Sixers in 2023-24. He averaged 8.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 60 games while shooting 43.2% overall, 39.2% from 3 and 84.0% from the foul line.

Lowry won the 2019 NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors. He has career averages of 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists.

The Sixers lost to the New York Knicks in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. Meanwhile, the Clippers lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the first round.

Philadelphia is projected to have around $60 million in cap space this offseason.

According to NBA reporter Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Sixers are interested in Paul George, LeBron James, Jimmy Butler and Brandon Ingram

“The Sixers want a maximum-salary player via free agency or a trade from a pool that includes Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler, and New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram,” Pompey wrote. “The Sixers could deal their draft picks in trades to acquire veteran role players with smaller contracts. They’ll also look to sign several of their free agents, only to realize bringing them back is not a reality.”

LeBron is expected to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, but Butler, Ingram and George could be available for the Sixers, who have never advanced past the second round of the playoffs in the Joel Embiid era.
