The Spurs are signing small forward Anthony Lamb to a 10-day contract via the hardship exception, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The signing comes as four more Spurs enter health and safety protocols — Keldon Johnson, Derrick White, Thaddeus Young and Devin Vassell. Doug McDermott and Lonnie Walker IV had already been in protocols.
Earlier in the day, Wojnarowski reported the Spurs were also signing guard Tyler Johnson, and given the recent news, they may not be done adding players on short-term deals.
Lamb, 23, is 6-foot-6 and appeared in 24 games with the Rockets last season, averaging 5.5 points. This season, he has played 13 games for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League, where he averaged 15.0 points and 5.6 rebounds.
He went undrafted out of Vermont in 2020, then wound up in training camp, before getting waived prior to the season. He has also spent time with the G League’s Cleveland Charge.
