Veteran power forward Gabriel Deck is headed back to Spanish club Real Madrid after being waived by the Thunder, Real Madrid coach Pablo Laso confirmed, via EuroHoops.
Deck, 26, is 6-foot-8 and made seven appearances for the Thunder, averaging 2.6 points.
He played with Real Madrid from 2018-21 prior to signing with the Thunder in April. His new deal with the Spanish club is expected to run through the 2023-24 season, as relayed by Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
“We are talking about a player who has been determinant in each team he has already played. He will help us a lot. He will give us a lot of options on both sides of the court,” Laso said, via EuroHoops. “The first time he came, we knew he would grow with us. He understands the game, he can play in and out, and his versatility is useful.”
Deck appeared in 10 games with the Thunder last season. He also played for the Argentinian national team in the Tokyo Olympics between stints with OKC.
