Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges to the Knicks. Paul George to the 76ers. The Celtics are the reigning NBA champs. The Bucks, Magic, Cavaliers, Pacers and Heat all think they have a chance — and they might be right.
And that’s just the Eastern Conference. Things are likely to be just as wild and wacky and wonderful in the West. I discussed all of it and a whole lot more on the new Amico Hoops Podcast from the Bleav Network. This is Season 1, Episode 1, and I’m very excited to be a part of it. Listen on Apple Music here or Spotify here or simply in the player directly below.
So what do I think is going to happen this season? Honestly, I have no idea. You can say the Celtics are the favorites, but we say that every year about every champion. And man, it’s so hard to repeat these days.
We know that because no one has done it since the Warriors in 2018. Since then, the NBA champions have been (drumroll, please), the Raptors, Lakers, Bucks, Warriors, Nuggets and Celtics. It has not been this way in about 40 years.
Before the current run of a New Year, New Champ, we saw utter domination from the Warriors and LeBron James (first with the Heat, then the Cavs). Now I’m not so sure the Warriors or James will even make the playoffs.
Anyway, the Amico Hoops pod will be a regular occurrence each week, with guests, analysis, and lots of talk about the hottest topics. Thanks so much for following along and making this happen. The real season is just around the corner.
