Hawks Waive Veteran Center

The Hawks have waived veteran center Tony Bradley one day after signing him to an Exhibit 10 deal for training camp, per the NBA transactions log and a team press release.Tony Bradley, NBA, Hawks, Bulls

Bradley, 26, is 6-foot-10 and has spent six years in the NBA, with the Jazz, 76ers, Thunder and Bulls. He was signed-and-waived by the Mavericks in training camp last year, then played for the Texas Legends of the G League.

He will likely now head to the College Park Skyhawks, the Hawks’ G League affiliate. The Skyhawks acquired Bradley’s returning player rights from the Legends this offseason.

As for his NBA career, Bradley has appeared in a total of 179 games with averages of 4.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 63.1% shooting. The Lakers originally selected him with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a non-guaranteed minimum-salary deal. It doesn’t count toward a team’s cap unless the player makes the final roster. It also can be converted to a two-way deal before the season begins or mean guaranteed money if a player is waived and then stays on the G League club for at least 60 days.

The Hawks enter the season as sort of a wildcard, having traded Dejounte Murray to the Pelicans and landing Zaccharie Risacher with the No. 1 overall draft pick. So at the very least, things should be interesting and worth following in Atlanta.
