The Raptors are sending point guard Goran Dragic to the Spurs in a deal for forward Thaddeus Young, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Along with Dragic, the Spurs will receive a 2022 protected first-round pick from the Raptors, and also send forward/center Drew Eubanks and a 2022 second-rounder to Toronto.
Per Wojnarowski, the pick from the Raptors is protected Nos. 1-14 in 2022 and Nos. 1-13 in 2023. It would turn into two second-rounders if it is not utilized by either of those drafts.
Dragic, 35, is 6-foot-3 and has appeared in just five games with the Raptors this season. He has either been injured or away from the team since November.
Young, 33, is 6-8 and averaging 6.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 26 appearances. Eubanks, 25, is 6-9 and averaging 4.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 49 games.
Dragic is not expected to return to the court in San Antonio, and is likely to receive a buyout, Wojnarowski reported. Meanwhile, Young and Eubanks will offer the Raptors some experience and depth in the frontcourt.
The Raptors are trading Dragic and protected 2022 first-round picks to the Spurs for Thad Young, Drew Eubanks and a 2022 second-round pick via Pistons, sources tell ESPN. Pick is protected 1-14 in 2022; 1-13 in 2023 and would turn into two seconds beyond that. https://t.co/SN0sFyVurm
