Lakers star forward Anthony Davis suffered a sprained right ankle late in the second quarter of Wednesday’s game against the Jazz.
He was ruled out for the rest of the game after receiving an X-ray in the locker room at halftime. The X-ray came back negative, the team said.
Davis is set to receive treatment over the All-Star break, then be re-evaluated when the Lakers return to practice.
Davis suffered the injury under the Lakers basket after coming down on Jazz center Rudy Gobert‘s heel while reaching for a lob pass. Davis’ right ankle buckled as he came back to the ground.
After getting up slowly, Davis was unable to put any weight on the leg and went back to the locker room with the assistance of teammates.
