Ben Simmons, Rich Paul Meet With Nets Front Officie

Nets newcomer Ben Simmons and agent Rich Paul met with Nets GM Sean Marks to discuss a plan to get Simmons back on the court, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.Ben Simmons

Simmons and Paul held a similar meeting with the 76ers over the summer, which is why this one has raised some eyebrows. The one in Philadelphia resulted in Simmons eventually seeking a trade, which he was granted in the James Harden deal in February.

Simmons has not taken the court this season for the 76ers nor the Nets, citing a back issue following the trade to Brooklyn.

“Simmons reiterated his desire to play for the Nets and the sides talked about how they will work together,” RealGM relayed. “Simmons has three years and $114 million left on his contract after this season.”

Per Wojnarowski, the Nets remain confident that Simmons has been addressing both his physical and mental issues, recognizing there is still work to be done before he is ready for game action.
